The Challenge
In 2024, the Association for Manufacturing Technology (AMT) asked DelCor to develop an ecosystem strategy that would better align the organization’s technology investments with AMT’s needs and business goals. The organization was unhappy with their Salesforce-based association management system (AMS) and had replaced most of the functionality with other third-party systems, choosing to use their AMS only for basic membership management. This solution wasn’t cost effective and resulted in data silos between the organization’s AMS and the third-party systems.
The organization’s business and operations were affected by the poor flow of data across systems and the lack of a single, complete customer record. Siloed data made customer engagement and marketing more difficult and negatively impacted important programs such as the AMT – The Association for Manufacturing Technology International Manufacturing Trade Show (IMTS), which serves as one of the organization’s main lines of revenue.
The Process
DelCor partnered with AMT to develop an ecosystem strategy that explored options for reevaluating and reimplementing the organization’s AMS or switching to a different solution.
Using system-data inventories and context diagrams, DelCor was able to illustrate how systems needed to be integrated in order to be effective and build rich customer engagement profiles. Additionally, DelCor highlighted other opportunities for AMT to streamline operations through improved data and technology governance and strategy.

The Solution
As a result of this project, AMT was able to find a promising solution to their problems. AMT decided to rebuild their Salesforce environment without the need for a costly AMS product and to focus on improving integrations to improve data flow.
In order to achieve these goals, AMT expanded their partnership with DelCor to include fractional Chief Information Officer (CIO) support to help the organization navigate these projects.
In addition to helping AMT rebuild their Salesforce environment, DelCor also provided guidance and support for the development of system integrations to enable customer data to flow in and out of the new Salesforce environment.
